The Cruise to New York City

September 3^rd to 5^th  At Ram Island Yacht Club in Noank.  Sailed to Essex on the 5^th and then on to Cedar Creek (Bridgeport) the next day.  Waited for favorable tide before leaving at noon on September 7^th to get to Stamford.  I was thrilled to see the NYC skyline.  In Stamford our friend Art joined us, and LUNEA headed for City Island the next day.  A short hop, only three hours, found us at the South Minneford Yacht Club by noon.  The entire island is about 1 ½ miles long so we walked the length of City Island Avenue taking in all the sights.  Near the marina is a nautical junk store that is chock-a-block full of "treasures".  Fortunately for LUNEA it was closed that day!  Lots of restaurants and a grocery store are within walking distance.  We recommend Fran's Trattoria for dinner.
